Happy holidays, and welcome to another edition of The Cassette. We open side A with an impressive demo from this month's interviewee, Casey Van Allen of KMOX in St. Louis. Read On The Cassette on page 15 of this month's issue to get the scoop on cuts 2, 3, and 4. We get a cute tune from WKDF on cut 6 and wrap up with more "great" vocal talent from WKLH in Milwaukee on cut 7.
Side B opens with a spot we were supposed to have on last month's Cassette. The spot, for Scruffy's, highlights some editing work Craig Rogers wrote about in the November Tips & Techniques section ("Quick Fix"). Refer back to last month's article for the setup. (Speaking of things we are SUPPOSED to have on The Cassette...this month's Tales of the Tape column says to listen to The Cassette for the spots Dennis talks about. You guessed it; we didn't get the spots in time. Listen for them next month.) The rest of side B is filled to the brim with some first class commercial work. Cut 5 is another spot that took advantage of the freebie "Monster Mash" music provided in October by Rick Robinson of WEGR in Memphis.
