Voxengo-SPAN-thumbVoxengo SPAN version 2.7 update is now available for download. SPAN is a free real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer plugin for professional music and audio production applications. For the most part it was derived from Voxengo GlissEQ dynamic parametric equalizer and reproduces its spectrum analysis functionality. SPAN is available in AudioUnit, VST and now VST3 plug-in formats (including native 64-bit support), for Mac OS X (v10.5 and later), and Windows computers. SPAN provides you with a very flexible “mode” system which you can use to setup your spectrum analyzer preferences. You may specify Fourier block size in samples, FFT window overlap percentage, spectrum’s visual slope. Beside that you can choose to display secondary spectrum of a desired type (e.g. real-time maximum, all-time maximum). Spectrum can be smoothed out visually for an easier examination. SPAN also features output level metering with adjustable ballistics and integration time, K-system metering (including calibration K-system metering). SPAN displays level metering statistics, headroom estimation and clipping detection. Correlation metering is available as well. www.voxengo.com.

► Ableton is pleased to announce the release of Live 9.1 - the latest version of the company’s flagship music software. This update is free to all users of Live 9 and provides several significant new features and improvements. The 9.1 update delivers the ability to open two windows simultaneously on either one or two monitors. Open Arrangement and Session Views side by side, or view Live’s sample display or MIDI note editor in a separate window. This commonly requested feature makes Live’s interface even easier to use and promises to boost workflow in many music-making scenarios. For Push users, the update to Live 9.1 introduces new melodic step sequencing capabilities. Notes may now be entered manually or played by hand in real time via Push’s pads. Additionally, all of Live’s automatable parameters can now be step-sequenced and edited directly from Push’s encoders. Live 9.1 also introduces a new rendering algorithm for better quality audio when exporting from higher to lower sample rates - for instance, when going from 96kHz to 44.1kHz. The update also brings a host of minor tweaks, bug fixes and improvements. All registered Live 9 users can download the free update via their user account. www.Ableton.com. ►
