This month's Cassette begins with a fabulous demo from this month's interview subject, Brian Lee. The rest of Side A has the usual collection of great promos. Cut 8 from Ron Maxwell is for "WSOR Kid's Radio," a service for children which is available on special receivers tuned to the station's sub-carrier, for a monthly fee, of course--nice way for a station to make some extra bucks on the frequency.
Side B opens with a special feature from Jeff Thomas of Virgin Radio in London. These "test transmissions" were aired during Virgin Radio's first few hours on the air. If you recall in last month's interview with Jeff, he said that hair raised on the back of the neck or goose bumps were a good sign that he had done a good piece of work. This qualifies! Crank it up! Cut 2, from Craig Rogers, is the spot he talks about in this month's new column, RAP Cassette Spotlight. Read the column on page 19 before listening! More great spots fill out the rest of Side B. Cuts 6 and 7 use the clients and their families on the spots--a great way to keep the client's ego on cloud nine and his money on your station! The side wraps up with a couple of spoof spots from Chris Oaks and Rich Boerner. Nice work, everyone!
