Tips & Techniques: H3000 Patch: "Shuttle Launch"

Here's a patch for the Eventide H3000 Ultra-Harmonizer from Craig Rogers, WHO/KLYF, Des Moines, IA.

This patch is called "Shuttle Launch." There are two versions. The second is a minor change to the first. (After going through all this set-up, you'll be glad it's minor!)

Start with Program 111 - Patch Factory

Cutoff 1 -- 153 mHz
Cutoff 2 -- 2057 mHz
Q fact 1 -- 0
Q fact 2 -- 400
(press "Parameters" for next screen)
Delay 1 -- 320
Delay 2 -- 320
Scale 1 -- 0%
Scale 2 -- 0%
(press "Parameters" for next screen)
Pitch -- -4610 cents (.070:1)
Pitch Delay -- 25 ms
(press "Parameters" for next screen)
Left Mix -- 100%
Right Mix -- 100%
Punch the "Expert" button, then select "Patching." Make the following patches:
Noise Generator into Pitch Shift
Pitch Shift into Scale 2
Scale 2 into Filter 2
Lowpass Filter 2 into Left Output
Lowpass Filter 2 into Right Output

Press the Function key twice. Select "FuncGen." Press "Function." Select "Toggle Ramp." Set "Amount" to 100. Set "Rate" at .18. Press the "Function" key again. Select "Patch." Patch "Scale 2" to the "FuncGen." Patch "FuncTrig" to "Soft Function 1" to give you a Softkey trigger for the liftoff. Patch "Func Freq" to "Soft Function 2" to control the rate of fade with the keypad. Punch "Function" again and select "SoftFunc" to rename Softkey 1 and 2. I used "Liftoff" for Softkey 1 and "Rate" for Softkey 2.

This set-up will give you a higher pitched liftoff. For one with more rumble, simply change cutoff 2 to 206 mHz.
