"The Cassette"
September 1999 |
| This Month On The Cassette
Welcome to the September 99 RAP Cassette! We
open with a couple of promos from this months interview subject,
Stephanie Snyder of Yahoo! Broadcast Services/broadcast.com. A creative
selection of commercials fills out Side A. Cut 2 from Pat White is a nice
touch on what usually turns out to be just another boring last minute
recruitment spot. Cut 6 was written and produced by Bob Enger, the stations
intern! Patrick ORegan puts his 5-year-old son to work as the voice
talent on cut 12. The last cut on Side A is the audio portion of this
months review of Sonic Foundrys Vegas Pro. This is the production
Tom Richards refers to in the review.
Side B is filled with promos from around the globe, and
we wrap up the side with a spoof spot that needs a bit of a setup. Brian
Locke writes: "When a local community developed water problems
(contamination of their city water supplynematodes), we sprang into
action! Nemagold has now taken on a life of its own, with listeners
actually bringing us their own bottled concoctions complete with mock-up
labels. The local E.P.A. has adapted Nemagold into their bureau-gossip.
And most importantly, the Mayor and City Council of the city of
Russelville have declared war on us! we were able to take a potentially
explosive political nightmare (its election time for the Mayor and City
Council) and make it even more flammable!"
Once again, excellent work everyone and thanks for your contributions
to this months RAP Cassette! Those of you not on this
months Cassette, search your files for something youve done
recently that youre proud of. Make a quick dub and send it in. The deadline
for the October RAP Cassette is September 21.

Support The Cassette by sending a promo and/or a commercial
recently produced at your studios. Please include your phone number for anyone interested
in finding out details about the work such as producer, voice talent, etc.. Sweepers,
bits, spoof spots, song parodies, and most any other good piece of production are also
welcome. If you send sweepers, dub them back to back to create a montage about sixty
seconds long. All other items should be dubbed with a few seconds between each cut so we
can pull them off cleanly. Submit reel-to-reel tapes heads out at 7.5 or 15 ips. CD and
DAT formats are also welcome. Thank you! |

Our
Members Say It Best!
“Love the mag as always — great to see others’ opinions on
things. And often when I have a question I want answered, it
ends up being in the next issue before I’ve had a chance to ask
any friends!”
