The RAP CD
September 2001

Welcome to the September 2001 RAP CD. We kick things off with a humbling demo from this months interview subject, Dave Foxx at Z100/New York. The rest of the CD is filled with more terrific commercials and promos. Promos come first on cuts 2-13. Cut 3, "Contest Rules" comes from Chadd Pierce who just recently turned 21 and seems to be doing quite well at his first radio jobin fact this is his first job period! Commercials are on cuts 14-23, and we wrap up with a little goodie we found in the archives from Don Elliot. Nice work everyone and thanks for your support of the RAP CD!

If you have a spot, promo, or some other good piece of production youd like to submit for the RAP CD, the deadline for the October RAP CD is September 20, 2001. Take advantage of e-mail and mp3 if you can. Its a lot simpler than making a dub, packaging it up, and mailing it to us. Just convert your RAP CD submission to mp3 and e-mail to cd@rapmag.com! In the e-mail text, be sure to include the title of the item youre sending along with your name, your company/station, and an e-mail address or phone number for people to contact you with any questions or comments about your submission.

Support the RAP CD by sending a promo and/or a commercial recently produced at your studios. Please include your e-mail address or phone number for anyone interested in finding out details about the work such as producer, voice talent, etc. Sweepers, bits, spoof spots, song parodies, and most any other good piece of production are also welcome. If you send sweepers, dub them back to back to create a montage about sixty seconds long. All other items should be kept separate so we can pull them off cleanly. We are no longer accepting reel-to-reel dubs. Please send using MP3, CD, DAT, or MiniDisc. If you stay in the analog domain, please send a cassette. Send MP3 files to cd@rapmag.com. Thank you!

“Love the mag as always — great to see others’ opinions on things. And often when I have a question I want answered, it ends up being in the next issue before I’ve had a chance to ask any friends!”
