Cuts 1 through 6 on side A of this month's Cassette are the finalists in the Medium Market Commercial category of the 1991 R.A.P. Awards. We are asking that you vote on this category one more time. We had to disqualify two entries from the Medium Market Commercial category last month due to incorrect market size information. Therefore, we're voting on this category again, and two new finalists have been added.

After voting on the first six cuts, sit back and enjoy the rest of this month's Cassette. Cut 7 on side A is the sample of work from last month's interviewee, Ray Sherman, of WXLP-FM in Davenport. Ray notes that the work is written, voiced, and produced by the 97X production team which includes Ray Sherman, Mike Doran, Bill Michaels, Greg Dwyer, and Guy Perry, plus a cast of voices from other sources including the sales staff. Cuts 8-10 offer some nice television audio work from Wally Wawro at our only subscribing TV station, WFAA-TV, Dallas, TX. We've received more promos than commercials lately, so we wrap up side A with a couple of promos and fill side B with more promos.

Cut 1 on side B is some "clean" work from Mick McCabe/WKGR-FM done on AKG's DSE-7000 digital workstation. Would you believe the US Air Force is a subscriber? They are, and cut 7 comes from Air Force Advertising at Randolph Air Force Base! Cut 11 is a nice twist on a "school closing" promo. Cuts 11 and 12 are part of a well done "Letterman 10th Anniversary" promotion. Cut 14 is a bit that any disk jockey can relate to -- you know how you always get calls from listeners who think you can help them with all their personal problems? Finally, we wrap up side B with a spoof for environmentally conscious smokers!
