Our Members Say It Best! Here's what RAP Members have had to say about RAP over the years:Send Us Your Comments!...as I go to my new station, the FIRST
piece of production equipment I have requested is a membership to
RAP Mag. Love the mag as always -- great to see
others opinions on things. And often when I have a question I want
answered, it ends up being in the next issue before I've had a
chance to ask any friends! I really look forward to next month's
magazine. I always find something compelling in there! Especially
being relatively new on the scene (out of broadcast school for 2
years now), it's great to see so much positive energy and discussion
about what we do. So many owe RAP so much.... I love the mag. It's the best $115 I have
EVER spent. Once a month, I am like a kid at Christmas when I get my
magazine. :) You guys are doing incredible work! Keep it up!!!!! The things I have learned from R.A.P... the
inspiration it gives me... to be included with the talented
producers/writers that are on each CD in a forum that I respect very
much... I just wanted to say thank you! "I've been a subscriber to RAP Magazine
since you guys included cassette tapes with the issues, and I still
learn something new every issue!" I'd just like to say that I absolutely love
RAP Mag! I've only been a subscriber since September, but I don't
think there's been one article in each edition that I haven't
learned something from that I can apply to my commercials and
imaging. My work has improved so much since I got my first magazine
that I just wanted to say thank you! I'm going to be a subscriber
for as long as you keep publishing. First let me start by saying I love Rap Mag...my
teacher Dave Bannerman told me I should get it a few years ago, but
I kept putting it off...don't tell Dave but he is a smart man.
Already made my money back in the first issue. Thanks RAP! I just had to send you an email to let you
know how much I enjoyed my first edition of the magazine. It arrived
about 2 weeks ago and I have read and re-read it. I must have spun
the CD a dozen times and generated as many new ideas from it. My PD
is all over it too. Can't wait for the March edition to arrive now!
Thanks a lot. I'm loving the magazine and getting an
awful lot from it... including valuable contact with other producers
around the world who have helped, advised and inspired me via email
discussions and critiques... First of all we want to say great job for
every RAP mag that comes our way. ...and thanks for the great job you guys do
each month - I can't tell you how much I've learned in just the 2
issues I got from you! I just wanted to take a moment to let you
know how much I appreciate RAP magazine and all the people you
feature. I have to pace myself reading it or I'll be done too soon
and will be chomping at the bit for next months. Great job talking
to all the right people! Your interviews, in the April '03 issue,
featuring Nick Michaels, was extremely enlightening! My production
staff loves your mag and we look forward to the "right on the mark"
articles you supply. Tthanks for the info and the chance to be
featured in your CD! Rapmag is one of, if not the best radio
magazine available on the planet. We use it as a tremendous resource
at our college too. As I told students last week, it's hard to
imagine there are actually managers who won't spring the small
subscription fee to make this available to production or programming
staff. It will pay for itself in 1 week! So I'm chatin' with my PD the other day and
I said, "I wish they made a magazine for production people."
He tosses me the Jan. '03 RAP Mag and says, "Here ya go!" I had know
idea.. Read it cover to cover.. It's "Kick Ass!" I'm your biggest
fan now. Keep up the good work. Looks like things are still rocking and
rolling at RAP Magazine. In our increasingly isolated world, it's
nice to know there are others out there fighting the same battles.
I am obliged to the publishers of this
periodical and to those of you who read it. I have learned much from
this magazine, and I have made many friends around the world because
of my association with it. LOVE the RAP! Can't get enough RAP! Wish
you guys were weekly!!!! ...just wanted to say your article on
copyrights was very informative! In fact I went over it in detail at
my Production Staff Meeting and Sales Meeting. Good stuff. And as
usual, the feature article on Joel Moss was a big hit with my, want
to be great, air staff. Your mag still speaks the language of the
wireless prod room better than anything under the sun. First, let me say that I am a new
subscriber to your magazine. I can describe it in one word: THA
BOMB! (Well, that's two words so shoot me). Anyway, that means I
like it a lot. Keep up the good work! Your magazine is
such a valuable resource! I'm just dropping a line to express my
thanks to RAP Mag for the fantastic interviews, inspirations and
ideas. I started reading your magazine a few years ago after I was
hired for my first full time production position in dinky little
market 218 in Winchester VA. I've been hooked ever since, and thanks
in large part to your magazine I developed my own skills and style
and have moved into the big leagues in Washington D.C. I just
renewed my subscription out here and I can't wait to dive back in!
Thanks guys!! Thanks for the great articles and thanks
for the ongoing info! It is invaluable to both me and my staff. Thanks for such a valuable magazine—far
more constructive for what I do on a daily basis than trades such as
R&R and FMQB. I am a subscriber to your fine production
magazine and study it and The Cassette faithfully, for idea starters
and production tips. Keep up the good work. You rock! We enjoy the tapes and the publication and
always get some good info/ideas/motivation out of both of them.
With all the resources available for
production types now, RAP remains in my opinion the single most
valuable resource. Thanks! Really enjoy the magazine. I especially
love the Radio Hed stuff. He talked to our ad-club last year and his
little tips are amazingly helpful! Thanks for all the awesome articles and
Cassettes with great production. They have pumped us up to the max
to produce excellent spots, promos, etc. for the Christian community
without forgetting about our message. Thank you for a great publication! The
articles, interviews, and tips are great. I especially love new
product reviews. Without a doubt, Radio And Production has been one
of the best investments I’ve made in a long time. I love this magazine!!! It’s nice to hear
other production folks and their woes. I realize that I am not
alone, in my situation, nor unique in my opinions of how things
should be. Radio And Production magazine is read cover
to cover monthly, and The Cassette is both refreshing and inspiring. Your magazine and monthly cassette are
valuable tools of the trade in my studio. I look forward to each new
edition, and am never disappointed. Thank you all for providing a
resource that connects production people all around the globe. I thoroughly enjoy and learn from your
publication (and cassette) every month. They are valuable production
"tools." You guys do great work. I don’t believe
there is an industry publication that serves its audience better
than Radio And Production! I very much enjoy the magazine. It seems to
come at just the right time every month when you need the “prod
boost.” Thank you for your outstanding work with
RAP Magazine. After almost ten years of reading RAP, I still find it
to be very interesting and helpful...keep up the good work for years
to come! Thank you all for providing us lonely
producers of the Western world with not only a very interesting and
valuable publication, but also, and perhaps even more importantly, a
reference point with which we may gauge the quality of our radio
stations, our working conditions, and ultimately, our performance.
Oh yeah, and The Cassette is pretty cool, too! Thanks for a consistently useful,
down-to-Earth, and thought-provoking publication. It is always a pleasure to see a new Radio
And Production appear in the Production box. The perspectives and
tips in the magazine are a good thing. Keep up the good work. A while back, under a sky thick with haze,
fog, and production orders, the skies parted to reveal a beam of
light. Down this golden shaft traveled Radio And Production to my
trembling hands...You've made it fun to work long hours to just
CREATE again. Thanks! Thank you for your wonderful publication.
As it gets tougher and tougher out here on the front line, it's good
to know you're not alone! As a new subscriber I can tell you I waited
too long to become a member of your awesome publication! Thank you
for such a great mag and The Cassette is always an inspiration!
In the past couple of years, I may have
gone in and out the doors of a few stations, but one thing I've
always taken with me is my Radio And Production "mag!" Thanks for
everything. I've been a reader of the magazine for
years. Every job I take, I talk the GM into a subscription... great
ideas for spec on the cassette, and I enjoy hearing the work of all
the talented people in my field. Some of my stuff will be on the way
soon! Your magazine's articles and interviews
offer a lot of ideas and encouragement for those days when
creativity isn't exactly flowing freely. Thanks for all the
inspiration! It has been interesting to watch Radio And
Production grow into one of the premier resources for Production and
Creative Directors. Good to know there's someone in "our" corner.
Thanks! Your Cassette and magazine, month after
month, give me creative incentive to excel in my writing and
production skills. That's more inspiration than my managers have
given me in years! Thanks, RAP! Thank you for your great publication. Radio
producers and writers may now congregate in spirit without drawing
flies at bars and trade shows. I love receiving you magazine every month.
It gives me great ideas, and I like to read about Production
Directors at other stations. I also enjoy the info on new equipment.
Thanks for a great magazine!!! Your publication is not only helpful, it's
insightful. It's a huge sense of relief just to flip through the
pages of RAP and find others busting their ass daily to make radio
advertising even stronger. Thanks to your entire staff for the great
work! Look forward to receiving RAP every month.
The Cassette is hard to hold on to. Everyone at the station wants to
borrow it. Maybe you should include 2 next time! Keep up the good work, and helping us
production folk with ideas, and unprecedented creative capability,
which continually impresses our bosses! I'm a recent subscriber to Radio And
Production, and I just wanted to write in and thank RAP for being a
light unto my dark and uncertain path. The articles and letters are
fantastic. RAP is one piece of equipment that should be handed out
immediately after birth. Thanks for being the "Production Lifeline"
for the industry! I've been an avid reader of Radio And
Production for about a year. I'd like to thank you for putting
together such an outstanding and informative magazine! I write checks out for rent, my car, and
credit cards. I have no equity in my apartment, my car keeps
depreciating, and my credit cards just charge me more. At least with
RAP, it's nice to see I get something back for my "investment!" Since first subscribing to Radio And
Production a year and a half ago, my eyes and ears have been opened
to so many new, exciting ideas, suggestions, and points of view, I
cannot even begin to put into words the immense help your
publication has provided me. Every month that goes by, I get more and
more out of RAP, from talking to folks on the Networks, to tips and
reviews. I can't imagine doing this job without RAP! Thanks for the excellent publication. It
has been great watching RAP evolve over the years. You are truly
serving a need for all of us who battle those deadlines everyday!
Keep up the great work! Just wanted to send along my praise for
RAP. The articles, the production on The Cassette, the entire
package has improved so much the past year. Whatever you guys are
doing...keep it up! The articles and Test Drives on all the digital
systems are very worthwhile. I've been test driving as many as I can
get my hands on, and the information in RAP really helps me get an
overview before I get something in my hands. I routinely copy our
Chief Engineer on two or three articles a month from RAP. Thanks for the great articles on "digital
toys." My GM keeps asking me about digital technology and about
what's hot equipment-wise. Thanks to everyone at RAP, I know what to
say, and I can sound like a pro! I went through quite a battle just to get a
subscription to RAP. The General Manager has now perused the first
issue and was just as thrilled as I to see his hard earned dollars
were well spent. Thanks. Radio And Production is such a goldmine!
You can sign me up for life! Thanks for the great industry mag. Our
staff at 96-X always bugs me for the new RAP before I've even had a
chance to read it. I am a new subscriber to RAP. The articles
and "The Cassette" have become a great source of information and
inspiration. Keep up the good work! I cannot live without RAP! It tests me,
gives me insight and offers the kind of views that keep me on the
right track. And I think every individual that's solo in his/her own
production company needs that type of input. We're really enjoying RAP. I learn
something new with each issue, and always look forward to hearing
the latest edition of The Cassette. It's a fantastic creativity
stimulator, and it's fun seeing what other stations across the
country are doing. This past summer, I discovered RAP while
waiting for equipment being serviced at Studio Supply in Dallas.
After spotting some issues in the lobby, I spent the next few hours
reading, taking notes, and absorbing as much as I could. RAP is a
winner, and I'm glad to be a member! Here's a check to renew our RAP
subscription for the year. RAP has become one of our stations' most
valuable investments -- keep 'em coming! This is my first Production Director's gig,
and I don't think I would do as good a job without the insight that
I get from Radio And Production. I have found it to be extremely
informative, helpful, and very entertaining (most trade mags are so
boring!) Enclosed you'll find my check for another
year's membership. The company was very happy with the improvement
we've had production-wise, so this year they gave ME a check for the
subscription! Congratulations on your magazine. I feel as
though I am not merely another subscriber to a bland trade journal,
but rather a member of an elite club. This is the only mag for the passionate
radio producer at a price anybody can reach. RAP has the most user
friendly information by a mile. Thanks. I dropped Radio & Records -- too much
record stuff, no production. Dropped Radio Only or whatever they
call it now. I smiled when I wrote this check. Keep up the great
work. Thanks for all the wonderful tips and The
Cassette. It's really improved my skills. I sometimes wonder why I
spent $17,000 on college, when all I needed to do was spend $1.63
per week on RAP! Thanks for providing an invaluable service! There have been times in the past that I
have dared my management to subscribe by proving to them that it
would pay for itself. It always has. Keep up the good work. When it comes to the decision of eating or
reading the new issue of Radio And Production, I usually go hungry. The production and copy staff (all four of
us) greatly enjoy reading your informative and entertaining monthly
magazine. We look forward to each new issue. We're really enjoying your mag and the
monthly tapes. It's nice to be able to get a little sample from
around the country. Keep up the great work. I am continually impressed by your
publication. The written content and the audio submissions to The
Cassette are always thought provoking and sometimes truly inspiring. I would like to take this opportunity to
thank you for providing all of us Production Directors with such a
valuable and informative publication. I've only been in this
business a short time now, but through Radio And Production, I've
already learned helpful information that has improved the quality of
my department. I was one of the subscribers you signed up
from the Dan O'Day seminar in Washington, and I couldn't be happier!
You always have something I can use in your magazine. I have read every trade there is, and I
must say that yours is the most informative, helpful and
straightforward of all. As a new subscriber, I just want to let you
know how much I enjoy and appreciate your magazine. Some great tips
and thought-provoking ideas. Keep up the great work. I learn something
every month from Radio And Production, and I've been doing this for
23 years. Like so many have said before me, and so
many will say after, "The day your magazine comes is my best day of
the month!" Thank you for the abundant flow of tricks,
tips, and technoid tid-bits. As many subscribers before me have
stated, I too, eagerly await delivery of my monthly creative fix of
Radio And Production! Yes! I'd like to thank everyone who works so
hard every month to bring such a creative, informative magazine to
the rest of us in the radio production field. I look forward to
every issue. Thanks again! Thanks for the great magazine and the
equally superb cassette. It's one of the few things around that
helps us maintain our sanity. I just devoured the May issue, and it's a
darn good thing we don't pay royalties! As usual, lots of great
ideas and lots of stuff to think about! As an eighteen year production vet, it is
sure great to finally have a production "forum" such as your
publication. Good job, keep it up. I really do enjoy reading RAP each month.
It's nice to get a little inspiration each month that I do not have
to develop. I must tell you that RAP has been a source
of great information and inspiration to me. Thanks, and keep 'em
coming. I just got the April issue, and as usual, I
got more than what I paid for. You're just not charging ENOUGH for
the damn thing! Radio And Production is well worth every
penny. If you broke it down to cost-per-stolen-idea, I think I'd owe
you a few bucks. I find that when the inspiration starts to wane,
Radio And Production shows up in the mail, and zingo!! I'm juiced
for another month. You guys have put together the best
magazine I've read in my thirteen years of radio. Keep up the great
work! I've just recently taken over the duties of
Production Director at the mighty 96 after leaving Magic FM in
Colorado Springs. I'd have to say the monthly arrival of your
publication and tape is one of the best acquisitions of the new job. |
