December 2000 RAP Cassette
Once again, if your studio is equipped for MP3 and e-mail, we are now
able to accept submissions for The Cassette via e-mail at
cassette@rapmag.com. In the e-mail text, be sure to include the title of the
item you’re sending along with your name, your company/station, and an
e-mail address or phone number.
The December 2000 RAP Cassette kicks off with a demo from this month’s
interview subject, John Mangan at KVTI. The demo is work done by the
students in the radio course at Tacoma’s Clover Park Technical College, some
excellent work for people at this very early stage in their radio careers!
Cut 2 is audio for this month’s Radio Hed column. The rest of Side A is
filled with some terrific commercial work. Cuts 3 and 4 are for a
gentlemen’s club, and apparently, cut 4 was necessary after cut 3 raised a
few questions in the listeners’ minds. Cuts 6 and 7 are part of a unique
campaign for a car dealer. Side B is packed with promos, several from our
archives. Cut 7, featuring the talents of voice-over talent Zeus, is a
well-done example of bringing the station’s "voice" from behind the scenes
to the main stage.
Thanks to all who sent tapes in for this month’s RAP Cassette! Please take
advantage of your Internet capabilities and forward submissions for next
month’s Cassette via MP3 and e-mail if this makes things easier for you. The
deadline for the January Cassette is December 20, 2000. Thanks!
