December 1999 RAP Cassette
Welcome to the December ’99 RAP Cassette! We begin Side A with an
impressive demo from this month’s interview subject, Shawn Kelly at Clear
Channel Communications in Albuquerque, NM. The demo includes commercial work
from Shawn and imaging work from Scottie Papek, Charlie Fox, and “Rainman”
(Jason Rainey). We get five choice commercials on cuts 2 through 6 and wrap
up Side A with a real gem from Don Elliot (who apparently had some time on
his hands one day). If you are a producer and/or a voice talent, you’ll get
a real kick out of “One Director.” Thanks Don!
Side B is filled with promo work for a variety of formats from all over
the globe, and we wrap up the side with a spoof spot from Craig Jackman. By
the way, a second cut from Craig Jackman, the promo he mentioned in this
month’s “Consolidation” article, was omitted from this month’s Cassette by
mistake. Look for it on next month’s Cassette.
Great work everyone, and thanks for your contributions to this month’s
RAP Cassette! Those of you who have not submitted anything for a while,
please search your masters for some of your better work and send it in. We
really do want to hear from you, too! The deadline for the January RAP
Cassette is December 21.
